Representative Kathy Richardson is Anticipating Record Setting Turnout in November at Polls

The Indy Star reports increasing numbers of registered voters. The growth rate has been especially high for young voters.  In preparation for the heavy Election Day, Kathy Richardson is encouraging absentee ballots, which will begin on October 6th 2008.

"As much as we'll try to prepare polling sites, we can't have enough equipment" in the event of heavy voting, she said. She is anticipating lines at the polls on Nov. 4.

Absentee ballots can be cast in the Voter Registration Office or through the mail. With heavy turnout expected, the office will be open additional hours for absentee voting: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 25 and Nov. 1, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 28-30 and noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 2.
