McClain, Buck, and Weatherwax help honor Trooper Daniel Barrett.

WNDU.com shows community support in Logansport for commemorating State Trooper Daniel Barrett. Daniel Barrett was killed in the line of duty due to a car wreck early this year. State Representatives McClain and Buck and State Senator Weatherwax advocated the dedication. The late Daniel Barrett will be honored by the renaming of the Third Street Bridge to Trooper Daniel R Barrett Memorial Bridge.

The bridge, which runs north and south over the Eel River, was renamed with the help of Indiana State Representatives Richard McClain and James Buck, who co-authored House Concurrent Resolution 0035 urging the Indiana Department of Transportation to rename part of State Road 17 in honor of Trooper Barrett. The resolution was sponsored by State Senator Tom Weatherwax.
