Rep. Cleo Duncan Announces Re-Election Bid for HD 67

Today, State Representative Cleo Duncan (R-Greensburg) announced she will seek reelection to the Indiana House of Representatives in House District 67. “The decision to run for reelection was not difficult to make,” Duncan said. “There is much to accomplish and representing District 67 in the legislature is an honor.” Duncan represents most of Rush County, all of Decatur County, most of Ripley County and Batesville in Franklin County.

Duncan highlighted some of the main reasons why she has decided to run for re-election. “There are many reasons I have made the decision to run for re-election. First and foremost are property taxes. I want to find a long-term solution and help relieve much of the stress Hoosiers have felt around the state with their property tax bills. When the 2008 legislative session concludes, meaningful permanent property tax reform needs to exist.”

“I want to make sure that the new three county regional water district (Vernon Fork) is established and will serve Decatur, Ripley and Jennings Counties. I want to do everything possible to bring economic development to our part of the state. I want to help create good jobs for us, our children and grandchildren so that if they choose to remain in our area, they will have many opportunities to raise their families here.”

“With the new Honda plant shipping 80% of their products by rail, I want to implement an intense rail safety campaign that is ongoing so that we can avoid tragedies with rail accidents. We will conduct an ongoing rail safety public awareness campaign for all residents in the district.”

“I also want to make sure that post-high school education is available, affordable and accessible to all people of our district. All of these things will help ensure good economic development for the people of District 67.”
