HV08 has discovered a book online called Glory Days Indiana: Legends of Indiana High School Basketball that has a chapter on Bob Heaton. Heaton is the Republican candidate for State Representative in HD46 near Terre Haute.
Bob Heaton, Republican candidate for State Representative in Terre Haute, will begin running television ads this weekend. For those of you who haven't been paying attention, Heaton was a member of 1979's Indiana State Sycamores (along with Larry Bird), who went all the way to the champtionship basketball game. This ad will be running during the NCAA tournament all the way to the championship game on April 7th.

With his announcement on November 15, 2007, Bob Heaton declared he is running for State Representative in House District 46. Heaton graduated from Clay City High School and then went on to play basketball at Indiana State along side the great Larry Bird. After Heaton’s fifty-foot jumper went in on a last second shot against Arkansas, ISU reached the Final Four, before being defeated by Magic Johnson’s Michigan State Spartans in the championship game.
At his announcement, Heaton was able to fill the 2nd floor conference room at the newly completed Hilton Garden Inn in Terre Haute, IN. In his address to the audience, which included family members, friends, supporters, former coaches and fans, Heaton explained, “The community has given me a lot in my past and in my career, and I want to give back to the community, and this is my way of serving.”After traveling all over the Wabash Valley to announce his candidacy for State Representative in House District 46, here are the news stories that ran in the local media in the days following.
