Bob Heaton, a proven leader...

With his announcement on November 15, 2007, Bob Heaton declared he is running for State Representative in House District 46. Heaton graduated from Clay City High School and then went on to play basketball at Indiana State along side the great Larry Bird. After Heaton’s fifty-foot jumper went in on a last second shot against Arkansas, ISU reached the Final Four, before being defeated by Magic Johnson’s Michigan State Spartans in the championship game.

At his announcement, Heaton was able to fill the 2nd floor conference room at the newly completed Hilton Garden Inn in Terre Haute, IN.  In his address to the audience, which included family members, friends, supporters, former coaches and fans, Heaton explained, “The community has given me a lot in my past and in my career, and I want to give back to the community, and this is my way of serving.”
