Sarah Palin Captures Positive Responses from State Representative Jack Lutz and candidate Frank Burrows

In the Herald Bulletin article, both state representatives share their excitement about Sarah Palin.  Jack Lutz expressed how her stunning introductory speech captivated him. Representative Burrows appreciated the optimistic and affirmative tone that Palin presented to the convention.  Sarah Palin is the needed freshness to the Republican Party.

Representative Lutz Acknowledges Property Assessment System

The Star Press details local residents’ plights about unfair property assessments.  State Rep. Jack Lutz responded to constituent concerns.

Rep. Jack Lutz, R-Anderson, acknowledged for every dollar in property tax that goes down, it goes up some where else. A good example was that the property tax cap plan recently approved for 2009-10 immediately raised the state sales tax by a penny.

Lutz said property values were down because of current economic conditions, and the assessment system obviously was unfair. Lawmakers indicated another look at property assessments would likely happen during the upcoming session in 2009.
